This happy bunch of U8s have just played in their first ever Netball match!  There's so much to learn and to remember, but they did so well and had so much fun!

Prep pupils spent the day learning how to manage their wellbeing by connecting with nature - by painting logs in our friendship circle and welly walking - and connecting with others by visiting Redcot Care Home and playing games with the residents and working in their houses to produce uplifting, motivational songs.

Could there be anything better for your wellbeing than cuddling a donkey or playing on the beach with your friends?  We doubt it!  The children are currently enjoying a 3-day Natural Wellbeing Festival where the children are mainly off-curriculum learning the extremely important lessons of how to manage their mental wellbeing through nature.  This is a shot of one of our Reception children enjoying a day at the Hayling Island Donkey Sanctuary where he was lucky enough to cuddle a donkey! 

Years 3 & 4 had a fantastic trip on Monday when they 'travelled' back through 10,000 years of human history and discovered every day life in the ancient past.  The children made cordages, built walls using the clunching technique, carved with chalk and even acted as archaeologists by taking part in a dig!  A wonderful day of fascinating learning outside the classroom.

Great to see so many of our pupils taking part in the Butser Hill Challenge on Sunday morning against 41 other schools. A fantastic experience for everyone & some great results, which bode well for the rest of the cross-country season!

Celebrating some incredible LAMDA results from our June exams. Every single pupil who took LAMDA exams whether it be in Verse & Prose, Acting or Musical Theatre gained a Distinction. Thank you so much to Katie Nicholls for her brilliant teaching & for preparing the children so well. Kids, you all smashed it!

A brilliant start to the cross-country season with 32 of our pupils heading to St Catherine's Bramley for their annual cross-country competition. Everyone represented St Ives so well, showing wonderful team spirit and determination (our cheering was definitely the loudest!) and we were thrilled to learn that 2 of our teams finished second overall! Great running U8 boys & U11 girls - we can't wait to see how you progress throughout the season! Thank you St Catherine's for a wonderful afternoon.

A huge thank you to FOSI (our parent body) who helped raise funds for our brand new Greenpower project. Year 6 pupils will be building 2 fully-functioning, electrically powered racing cars! Once completed, the children will be taking the cars to the Greenpower competition day at Goodwood, giving them the chance to test their mettle against children in other schools in the area in a series of different racing challenges.

Greenpower 'Goblin' cars arrive in kit form so the children will build the cars throughout the term, learning about mechanics, electrics, car control, design & livery. And, the best thing is that, at the end of the project, the cars can be taken apart for another set of pupils to learn the skills involved in building these cars. It's very exciting Year 6 and we can't wait to see your progress! 

This morning we celebrated the start of the academic year with the 'official opening' of our newly-carved cedar tree which is so integral to our playground. Over the Summer, we had the very talented @simonorourke carve our logo & the animals & words within the Building Learning Power model which forms the framework of our everyday life. We all love it!

Ending the year on a massive high! In the year we were named Small Independent School of the Year, earned a 'double excellent' ISI Report AND were a finalist at the School Travel Awards, we've just been shortlisted for a Student Wellbeing award as well! A huge accolade to our wonderful staff who put the children's wellbeing at the centre of every decision they make. Happy Summer!
